About Mansquad
We figured you’d want to know what this was all about, so here goes.
What We Do
After watching the Superbowl one night at a local Jacksonville watering hole, a group of guys looked around and realized that they only really hung out and did stuff during the football season. With that in mind, they decided then and there to start “Mansquad”, an organization that would plan events that revolved around doing stuff that “dudes” like to do, namely:
- Camping out
- Making fire
- Competing with each other in events
- Grilling stuff, like meat, and, other meat-related products
- Shooting off fireworks and guns
- Talking sports, cars, trucks, fishing, hunting, women, music, movies and anything else in the “dude” sphere of knowledge
- Build & fix stuff, often times breaking stuff
With the idea in hand, they figured that any man would be able to “escape” his family obligations at least once a month without fear of reprimand from their significant other. The edict was passed to set up camp outs one night per month, and try to keep the total cost of the event under $20 bucks.

Our Charity
In addition to doing stuff for ourselves, we also do stuff for other dudes (and chicks, too). As a registered 501c Non-Profit Organization, we run the “Fill the Footlocker” charity, and get together and collect cash and donated items that we ship overseas to our active duty troops serving overseas.
Meetings
That’s pretty much it. We meet once a month on the third Saturday and usually camp overnight somewhere in the Southeast, most times at a State Park. We grill out, play some football, swap tall tales and brag about things. It’s basically a grown up version of Boy Scouts.
Aside from these bivouacs, each local squad organizes events, like trips to the gun range, football parties, paintball and other fun stuff.
So, you probably want to get involved, because what dude wouldn’t, right? Here are the membership requirements. If you meet them, click the “Application” page and tell us why you deserve to be a member of Mansquad. If we think you’re a worthy dude, we’ll indoctrinate you on one of our bivouacs (fancy word for camp out) and, if you pass the “indoc”, you’ll be a full fledged member of Mansquad.
Membership Requirements
- Must be a dude
- Must be 18 or older, or sponsored/accompanied by a member or candidate who is related to you, like a dad, step-dad, uncle, or something like that
- Must have a demonstrated ability in something dude related, like fishing, cars, guns, hunting, welding…you know, stuff dudes do.
- You must be located in the Southeast USA currently. Basically, if you’re more than 6-8 hours from the 32256 area code, you probably won’t be able to make the bivouacs. If you think you’re “on the cusp”, just contact us and we’ll let you know.
- We do not discriminate on the basis of age, race or religion, just sex. No chicks.
- No convicted felons
- You may not have associations with extremist or paramilitary organizations
If you meet theses requirements, click the “Application” link on the top of the page and send us your information. One of our members will contact you about becoming a member.
If you are friends with a member of Mansquad, he can vouch for you at a bivouac, and you can skip the application process.
Financials
We don’t charge dues, but we do throw cash in for the bivouacs to help pay for gas, beer, liquor, food and camping expenses. It’ll generally never be more than $20 per bivouac, and those in charge of the organization (generally the Officers) will indicate how much you’ll need to chip in before the bivouac starts. For certain events (paintball, fishing, etc.) the cost may be more, but the price will always be posted well before the event.
Bivouacs
- Each month, Mansquad holds a bivouac on the third Saturday
- All members are encouraged to attend. If you don’t, you probably will be talked about. It’s just how it is.
- The bivouac will be determined by the Officers, and the time and location will be posted on the website.
- All members will be emailed.
- A bivouac location will never be more than a few hours’ drive. Carpooling will be arranged, and a central meeting location will be announced. The member who travels the furthest distance receives the “Voyager” award.
- PLEASE sign up for our Facebook page (facebook.com/mansquad) as this is our easiest and simplest method for notifying members of events
Want to start you own squad?
We’re always eager to have new squads who want to participate. If there is no squad in your region, you’re welcome to start your own! You can do it yourself, or, we can help you out with our “squad starter kit”, available for purchase on the “Merchandise” page. The starter kit contains everything you need to start your own squad, including uniforms, stickers, patches, and documents.
